Principal Software Engineer

Role overview Lead the design and delivery of shared identity, authentication, authorization, and security services used across an enterprise software platform. This hands-on principal role sets technical direction across teams, guides a group of engineers, and helps establish secure connections between platform environments.

Responsibilities - Own technical direction for platform identity and security services, including access control and tenant context. - Turn architectural guidance into detailed designs and production-ready core services that meet security, availability, performance, and reliability needs. - Define API contracts, authentication flows, authorization models, and secure integration patterns with partner platform teams. - Lead and mentor a team of 5–8 engineers, and guide broader groups through design and code reviews, threat modeling, and operational planning. - Coordinate cross-team delivery, testing, release readiness, and support; document decisions, dependencies, and ownership. - Investigate production incidents, work through customer escalations, and drive root-cause fixes and long-term remediation.

Requirements - 8+ years of backend software engineering experience, including delivery of enterprise SaaS services at scale. - Experience designing and operating authentication, authorization, identity, or other security-sensitive platform services. - Ability to lead technical work across teams and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on. - Strong judgment around secure coding, service reliability, and production readiness. - Experience working in Agile and CI/CD environments with automation, testing, and observability.
