Business Systems Analyst (1099 Contract)

Role overview This six-month 1099 contract supports a delivery team inside an engineering organization that executes high-priority strategic initiatives for major insurance carriers. The role focuses on gathering and translating business requirements for complex configuration data sets, partnering directly with carrier stakeholders to document scope decisions. It is fully remote within the contiguous United States.

Responsibilities - Document and deliver business requirements for complex product configuration data sets across assigned projects - Engage stakeholders at insurance carriers to capture key scope decisions and align on approach - Translate business requirements into technical specifications that engineering teams can build against - Partner with senior delivery leadership to complete defined project deliverables on a temporary engagement - Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and revenue teams to support implementation outcomes

Requirements - Two or more years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably in insurance, financial services, or SaaS - Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and translate business requirements into technical specifications - Comfort interpreting and organizing complex product configuration data sets - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working directly with external clients and internal teams - Proficiency with Google Sheets, JIRA, Confluence, and a data visualization tool such as Tableau or Grist - Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have - Familiarity with policy administration systems or underwriting workflows
