Remote job
Senior Product Manager, Data Catalog & AI Readiness
Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the product experience and rollout program that makes platform data findable, well described, measurable for quality, and usable by AI agents. You will work across product domains to set onboarding and readiness standards, prioritize migrations based on demand, and give leaders a clear view of progress and blockers. The role calls for both product judgment and hands-on coordination of a multi-team program.
Responsibilities - Set the data catalog roadmap, including domain onboarding, metadata and documentation practices, quality indicators, and discovery for people and AI agents. - Run a cross-domain AI readiness program: define the assessment bar, sequence migrations, and maintain a dated plan toward coverage of all product domains. - Prioritize catalog work according to the data needs of planned AI features. - Align catalog entries with the organization’s canonical data model and entity definitions. - Publish domain-level readiness states and blockers, distinguishing completed assessments from actual readiness. - Define which context and data signals agents may use, and partner with legal and security teams on classification, consent, and access boundaries. - Establish an onboarding playbook so domain teams can add and maintain their own catalog entries.
Requirements - At least five years of product management experience in data platforms, data infrastructure, developer tools, or a related technical product area. - Technical fluency in metadata, data contracts, or data quality, including the ability to review schemas and assess whether readiness evidence is substantive. - Experience coordinating migrations across multiple teams with milestones, owners, and visible progress measures. - Ability to build alignment without direct authority, including with teams whose roadmaps and priorities you do not control. - Sound judgment to maintain quality standards when delivery pressure favors declaring work complete early. - Ability to serve both human builders who need discovery and documentation and AI agents that need machine-readable contracts and safeguards. - Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, and a self-directed approach to finding program constraints.
Nice to have - Experience with data catalogs, governance platforms, or master data management. - Exposure to AI or large language model features and practical data requirements for agents. - Product experience with graph or relationship-querying capabilities.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role, available in the listed state; employment is contingent on background and credit checks. - Health, life, and disability insurance; vacation, company holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off. - Retirement plan with company match, a paid vacation bonus, employee assistance resources, and professional development opportunities.
