Manager, Mission Engineering

Role overview A field-based leadership role managing a regional team of Mission Engineers who serve as the technical face of the organization inside customer agencies. Based in the Southeast US with up to 40 percent travel, the position combines portfolio accountability with active coaching, technical fluency, and structured collaboration with product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities - Own portfolio outcomes including deployment health, adoption, technical stabilization, time-to-value, and escalation trends across multiple accounts - Serve as a steady senior partner for command staff, agency IT, and internal leadership during complex situations - Work alongside Sales, Product, Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Customer Success, translating customer reality into structured feedback for product and engineering - Maintain enough technical fluency across SaaS, cloud, hardware, networking, integrations, and the platform's product suite to coach the team well - Guide decisions around configuring existing capabilities versus building new ones, while designing for evidence integrity, privacy, and approved tooling standards - Coach team members through complex technical and adoption moments and mentor them on technical depth and executive presence - Build individual development plans, provide regular feedback, and create stretch opportunities - Set clear expectations for customer ownership, technical execution, and onsite presence in agency environments - Build playbooks, delivery rhythms, and reusable patterns so quality work travels across the team

Requirements - Typically 7+ years in customer-facing technical delivery such as technical account management, solutions, implementation, systems integration, or professional services, with 3+ years leading individual contributors - A coaching and mentoring record with examples of people who grew, shipped more, or raised standards under your leadership - Technical range across hardware, software, cloud, networking, and integrations, with the ability to evaluate technical work and engage agency IT - Personal examples of solving problems with technology: something built, automated, integrated, or designed that others used - Confidence engaging command staff and senior stakeholders while going deep with technical administrators - Experience owning outcomes across a portfolio with a simple operating cadence of 1:1s, reviews, dashboards, and escalation paths - Comfort shifting priorities while keeping standards visible and the team moving - Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and model thoughtful security judgment

Nice to have - Public safety, law enforcement, corrections, defense, or other mission-critical environment experience
