Fiber Network Documentation Specialist III

Role overview Help maintain accurate digital records of long-haul fiber infrastructure, including cable routes, connections, splices, and related equipment. You’ll work with engineering and field teams to turn design documents and installation records into usable network maps, with training and support from experienced specialists.

Responsibilities - Enter and update fiber routes, connectivity, splice details, and physical-layer information in network records. - Review design drawings, schematics, and field documentation, then resolve inconsistencies with the team. - Record network changes and verify that both active and passive infrastructure is represented accurately. - Prepare basic network reports and assist with capacity checks. - Use mapping and visualization tools to communicate network paths and layouts. - Coordinate documentation needs with engineering, installation, and field survey teams.

Requirements - Foundational knowledge or a demonstrated interest in telecommunications, networking, or fiber optics. - Careful, organized approach to complex data and technical records. - Proficiency with Google Workspace, especially Sheets, and ability to learn specialized software. - Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to document technical information. - Understanding of the value of maintaining process documentation and technical guides. - Must live within commuting distance of Denver; the role is remote-first.

Nice to have - Exposure to fiber network management or mapping platforms such as OSPi, Netcracker, ArcGIS, or SmallWorld. - Familiarity with technical drawings, blueprints, fiber routes, splicing, racks, panels, or cabling standards.
