Network Architect

Role overview

A technology services firm is hiring a Network Architect to support a client engagement in Tallahassee, Florida. The role is remote and centers on designing and deploying enterprise Network Access Control (NAC), migrating a large fleet of switches between management platforms, and improving wireless and security operations across the environment.

Responsibilities

- Serve as the principal technical point of contact for the project team. - Architect and deploy enterprise Network Access Control using Aruba ClearPass across more than 2,500 devices and switches running AOS and AOS-CX. - Lead the migration of over 2,500 Aruba switches from Aruba AirWave to the Aruba Central cloud architecture. - Engineer ClearPass policies including device fingerprinting, 802.1x certificate services, role mapping, VLAN assignment, and Downloadable User Roles. - Implement and configure Aruba wireless controllers, access points, AirWave, and Central for unified monitoring and dashboard management. - Identify automation opportunities and improve operations through documentation and monitoring refinements. - Conduct wireless site surveys, predictive heat mapping, and RF optimization to ensure strong coverage and throughput.

Requirements

- Active HPE Aruba Networking Certified Expert credential in Network Security. - Expert-level experience deploying and managing Aruba NAC. - Demonstrated experience serving as a primary technical lead migrating a large network of more than 2,000 switches from Aruba AirWave to Aruba Central. - Expert-level experience deploying and managing Aruba Central. - Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting and deploying device and user certificates. - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or five years of equivalent work experience. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Nice to have

- Proficiency in Python and PowerShell to automate network configurations, parse logs, and orchestrate API workflows. - Operational experience with legacy Aruba AirWave servers for monitoring and baseline compliance. - Experience administering the Palo Alto security suite, including Panorama, Prisma Access, Next-Generation Firewalls, Digital Experience Monitoring, and Strata Logging Service. - HPE Advanced Product Certification in ClearPass.
