Role overview A senior technical integration lead is needed to drive end-to-end integration of complex software and systems across multi-disciplinary mission environments. The role sits at the seam between operational user needs and engineering delivery, providing technical leadership where requirements, ownership, and interfaces are still maturing. The work supports high-consequence national security and critical civilian mission outcomes through disciplined integration practice.
Responsibilities - Lead integration of complex software and systems spanning multiple technical disciplines, platforms, organizations, and mission environments. - Translate operational and user needs into actionable technical requirements, interface definitions, and development priorities. - Identify, track, and resolve cross-team technical dependencies that span traditional engineering, program, or organizational boundaries. - Provide technical leadership and create clarity in ambiguous settings where scope, ownership, or interfaces are still evolving. - Partner with Agile or iterative software development teams to align integration milestones with delivery cadence. - Communicate technical status, risks, and trade-offs to engineering, operational, and programmatic stakeholders.
Requirements - 10+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, systems integration, technical delivery, or a closely related field; higher education, specialized training, or relevant military service may be combined with professional experience. - Demonstrated record of integrating complex software or systems across multiple technical disciplines, organizations, or mission environments. - Working knowledge of modern software architecture, APIs, data integration, system interfaces, and interoperability considerations. - Hands-on experience collaborating with software development teams in Agile or iterative delivery settings. - Proven ability to convert operational or user needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. - Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and programmatic audiences.
Nice to have - An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, required to start. - Familiarity with secure facility operations, including restrictions on personal electronic devices and remote connectivity. - Prior experience supporting defense, intelligence, or other mission-critical integration programs.
Benefits and work setup - Remote within California or on-site in San Diego, CA, with travel as required. - Published salary range of $140,000 to $190,000 per year. - Sedentary to light physical demands typical of a professional office and technical work environment, with extended meeting and collaboration periods.
