Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior Infrastructure Systems Architect role providing architectural oversight for the systems that manage, monitor, and secure a device ecosystem of roughly 50,000 endpoints supporting more than 20,000 users across 1,500-plus locations. The position is an equal blend of architecture and hands-on engineering, responsible for defining target-state designs for fleet management, telemetry, and automation and then building the integrations and tooling that make them real. It also extends to clinical workstations and connected clinical devices such as digital X-ray, CBCT imaging, and intraoral 3D scanning systems.
Responsibilities - Define target-state architecture, standards, design patterns, and roadmaps for endpoint management, telemetry, inventory, patching, and remote support. - Establish architectural governance including design review processes, architecture decision records, and non-functional requirements. - Evaluate commercial endpoint management, RMM, and observability platforms, leading build-versus-buy analyses with TCO reasoning. - Design and build tooling, APIs, connectors, and automation frameworks that integrate endpoint platforms with ITSM, CMDB, identity, and asset systems. - Write production-quality code in .NET, Go, Python, and JavaScript or TypeScript for agents, microservices, and orchestration jobs. - Lead safe and effective enterprise-wide application deployments and serve as final escalation point for complex, cross-domain technical issues.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - Ten or more years in systems architecture, platform engineering, or software engineering, including experience with device fleet management at enterprise scale across a distributed, multi-site footprint. - Strong production coding experience in one or more major languages such as .NET, C#, Go, Python, or TypeScript. - Familiarity with commercial endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, MECM or SCCM, and JAMF. - Cloud platform experience with Azure or GCP preferred, containerization, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or equivalent, and observability tooling such as Grafana or Prometheus. - Solid grasp of endpoint security fundamentals including EDR, disk encryption, patch and vulnerability management, and hardening baselines.
Nice to have - Experience in highly distributed multi-site industries such as healthcare, dental, retail, or restaurant operations. - Familiarity with AI or ML-assisted operations including anomaly detection, predictive hardware failure, or automated triage of endpoint telemetry.
Benefits and work setup - Salary range of $115,000 to $175,000. Generous benefits package including paid time off, health, dental, and vision coverage, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer match. Remote-eligible with occasional travel under 10 percent; full-time with occasional after-hours or weekend work for major deployments.
