Job details
About this role
Role overview Architect and ship low-latency distributed systems for tier-1 financial platforms, real-time analytics networks, and large-scale infrastructure providers. Work is delivered by an autonomous senior pod focused on throughput, determinism, and code that earns its complexity. The position is remote (global), full-time, and reports a compensation band of $190k–$250k plus profit share.
Responsibilities - Design, benchmark, and deploy low-latency distributed systems in Rust and Go - Build high-throughput stream processing pipelines, distributed lock managers, and in-memory caches - Tune memory allocation, lock-free concurrency primitives, and zero-copy network I/O paths (io_uring / DPDK) - Partner with client engineering pods on architectural audits and bottleneck removal - Author design RFCs and keep unit and integration test coverage high
Requirements - 5+ years engineering high-throughput backend services or distributed platforms - Production proficiency in Rust and/or Go, with a clear grasp of memory safety, async runtimes such as Tokio, and concurrency - Working knowledge of network protocols including TCP, UDP, gRPC, HTTP/2 & HTTP/3, and Protobuf - Familiarity with consensus algorithms such as Raft and Paxos - Hands-on use of Linux profiling tools (perf, flamegraphs, eBPF) and kernel tuning - Commitment to readable, self-documenting code and automated testing
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first, globally distributed team - Compensation band of $190k–$250k plus a profit share component - Small senior pod structure with asynchronous rituals
