Telecommunications Engineer

Role overview A senior telecommunications engineering position focused on carrier-class voice and unified communications for mission-critical infrastructure. The engineer designs, deploys, and sustains Avaya-based enterprise communications platforms while ensuring 24x7 availability for end users.

Responsibilities - Apply carrier-class telecom engineering practices and standards to system design and operations - Support cloud-based enterprise communications including voice, messaging, meetings, conferencing, and collaboration - Drive voice engineering initiatives covering both project work and ongoing operations support - Maintain infrastructure relied upon on a continuous 24x7 basis - Monitor telecom networks, perform trend analysis, and proactively resolve performance issues - Prepare technical reports and engineering studies that justify equipment and service requests - Evaluate telecom systems, recommend modifications or new equipment, and recommend corrective actions for technical issues - Conduct technical field surveys, develop system design criteria, and verify compliance with DISA specifications

Requirements - High school diploma plus 6-8 years of relevant experience - Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences - Proficiency installing and managing Avaya Aura Communication Manager 8 or higher - Design experience with Avaya Unified Communication products - Skills installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting Avaya G450 Gateways - One of the following Avaya certifications: ACSA, ACSS, or ACIS - CompTIA Security+ certification - Experience with cybersecurity configurations and security implementation tools - Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Visio for documentation and drawings - Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and a U.S. passport
