Model Based Mission Engineering SME

Role overview A senior subject-matter role driving model-based mission engineering for complex defense systems and multi-domain operational environments. The position focuses on converting legacy mission architectures into dynamic digital models that support data-driven decisions, secure interoperability, and mission-level analysis.

Responsibilities - Manage mission, operational, system, interface, and cybersecurity requirements through their full lifecycle - Build and maintain mission-engineering architectures and MBSE artifacts linking operational scenarios, mission threads, systems, and simulations - Apply MBSE tooling with SysML and UAF to develop behavioral, structural, parametric, requirements, and interface models - Drive the shift from document-centric artifacts to an integrated digital engineering source of truth - Model and assess integration of mission systems, sensors, payloads, networks, hardware, and software across operational architectures - Partner with system, cybersecurity, M&S, hardware, and operational SMEs to validate mission-engineering solutions - Support Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environments and automated M&S workflows for joint-force coordination - Conduct requirements verification, traceability, model validation, and technical reviews - Identify technical risks, assess mission impacts of design changes, and provide model-based recommendations

Requirements - Bachelor's degree with 10–12 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 8–10 years, or PhD with 5–7 years - Demonstrated experience with Dassault Systèmes Cameo Systems Modeler or Cameo Enterprise Architect - Proficiency with SysML and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) - Familiarity with Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM) - Background in MBSE architecture development and requirements traceability - Experience with mission engineering, system-of-systems engineering, or enterprise and operational architecture - Modeling and simulation experience, ideally including LVC environments - Active Secret security clearance
