Role overview This is a senior individual contributor and technical leadership role responsible for planning, designing, and engineering enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure for an analytics platform. The position serves as the in-house expert on cloud computing models spanning PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS, and influences architecture, policy, and process across the organization. The engineer coaches and delegates to junior staff while tackling complex, multi-platform problems that span software, hardware, data structures, and communications technology.
Responsibilities - Lead the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level cloud platforms covering infrastructure, platform, and software delivery models. - Manage large-scale projects or processes end to end, setting direction with minimal oversight from senior management. - Provide solutions to advanced, complex technical and business problems requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge. - Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level engineers while acting as a subject matter expert on specific technologies. - Influence policies, practices, and procedures across the function and partner with other departments to shape strategy and processes. - Contribute to department goal setting and identify opportunities to improve how the function operates.
Requirements - Minimum of 8 years of functional experience, including at least 5 years in position-specific cloud infrastructure work. - Recognized subject matter expertise in cloud platforms with broad knowledge across software, hardware, data structures, and communications technology. - Advanced understanding of a specialized field plus working knowledge of related disciplines, typically supported by a four-year degree or equivalent experience. - Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Nice to have - Track record of setting technical direction for junior staff and contributing to departmental strategy.
