Job details
About this role
Role overview A remote, Brazil-based opportunity for a senior engineer to join a Product Expansion squad focused on accounts payable and analytics products for service-based small and mid-sized businesses. The work centers on architecting and maintaining the backend systems that power payment automation and money-movement workflows. The team operates within a fast-scaling fintech environment that values collaboration, ownership, and rapid iteration.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend services handling data processing, transformations, and core business logic. - Design idempotent, queue-based event-driven pipelines using tools such as Kafka or RabbitMQ to ensure reliable message processing. - Write clean, maintainable code in Go (or a comparable backend language) and SQL against Postgres-style databases, following established coding and review standards. - Drive quality and reliability through unit, end-to-end, and integration testing; instrument throughput, latency, and error-rate metrics with alerting. - Partner with Product and Operations to ship features quickly, pair with teammates, and refine internal tooling and processes.
Requirements - Strong proficiency in Go or a comparable backend language, plus solid SQL skills with Postgres or an equivalent database. - Hands-on experience building payment platforms or working with financial-transaction systems. - Comfort with event buses or message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. - Solid testing discipline across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels. - Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines. - 4–7 years of professional software development experience with senior-level responsibilities.
Nice to have - Analytics engineering exposure with tools like ClickHouse, dbt, Dagster, or Spark/Databricks. - Frontend experience with TypeScript. - Prior work on financial or data reconciliation, including integrations with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite. - Familiarity with double-entry accounting concepts. - Observability tooling experience with Prometheus or Grafana, plus exposure to encryption, audit trails, and basic compliance/security practices.
Benefits and work setup - Total compensation range of $90,000–$105,000 plus equity. - Unlimited paid time off with flexibility, and a yearly learning and development stipend. - Fully remote role open to candidates eligible to work in Brazil.
