About this role
Role overview The role sits inside the R&D group of a tech-enabled freight forwarder that coordinates time-critical shipments, such as medical and aerospace cargo, across a global driver and airline network. The Solutions Engineer owns the translation layer between customer Standard Operating Procedures and the platform that orchestrates every order activity.
Responsibilities
- Work with onboarding, operations, account management, and product to interpret customer SOPs and confirm configured workflows match real-world intent. - Translate detailed, often ambiguous customer procedures into precise JSON-defined workflow diagrams that encode business rules, triggers, and conditions. - Configure the mobile workflows drivers follow in the field, ensuring captures, scans, confirmations, and exception handling appear in the correct sequence. - Test and validate workflows before launch, then iterate as customer requirements evolve, catching edge cases before they reach operations. - Identify reusable patterns across customers and verticals, building templates and configuration standards that improve speed and consistency. - Track operational adherence, automation rate, and service-level performance, and feed insights back into refined configurations.
Requirements
- Two to four or more years in solutions engineering, implementation, systems configuration, business analysis, or a similar customer-to-platform role. - Demonstrated ability to parse complicated SOPs into structured process flows or workflow diagrams. - Strong organization, attention to detail, and comfort working with structured data and conditional logic (JSON, rules engines, branching rules). - Clear communication and requirements-gathering skills, including the ability to interview stakeholders to surface the real process behind a written SOP. - Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with process-mapping tools such as BPMN, Lucidchart, or Visio. - Logistics, supply chain, or operations background.
