Backend Developer (Python)

Role overview Develop the backend services that support geospatial platforms, including APIs, data pipelines, and spatial services used by web and mobile applications. The work involves handling large spatial datasets efficiently and deploying cloud-based services.

Responsibilities - Design and implement REST or GraphQL APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Django. - Build ETL workflows for large geospatial datasets. - Model, store, and query spatial information with PostGIS. - Develop asynchronous task queues, caching layers, and background jobs. - Deploy and operate services on cloud infrastructure.

Requirements - At least three years of Python backend development. - Experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask, or a comparable framework. - Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and PostGIS. - Familiarity with asynchronous programming, such as asyncio or aiohttp. - Experience with Docker and cloud deployments.

Nice to have - Geospatial Python tools such as GDAL, rasterio, Shapely, or GeoPandas. - Experience with serverless or edge platforms, including Cloudflare Workers or AWS Lambda. - Familiarity with Redis, RabbitMQ, or SQS message queues. - Open-source contributions.
