Senior Backend Engineer

Role overview Design and operate backend services and APIs that support high-volume, real-time product experiences. You’ll own services across their lifecycle, from initial design and feature delivery through performance tuning and production support, while helping the team maintain quality and reliability in a continuously operating environment.

Responsibilities - Build scalable backend systems and APIs for applications with a large, active user base. - Deliver production-ready features while balancing fast product changes with reliable architecture. - Own services from design and implementation through maintenance, performance improvements, and reliability work. - Investigate and resolve production incidents, then use findings to improve systems and operations. - Optimize services for high traffic, low latency, and real-time demands. - Work with product and engineering partners, mentor colleagues, and promote strong development practices.

Requirements - A computer science degree or a relevant combination of education, experience, and training. - At least three years of professional object-oriented backend development, using languages such as C# or Java. - Deep knowledge of object-oriented principles, design patterns, and backend architecture. - Experience designing distributed systems in a cloud environment such as AWS or Google Cloud. - Strong capability in automated unit, integration, and performance testing for backend services. - Experience supporting other engineers through mentoring, code and design reviews, or collaborative debugging.
