Staff Backend Engineer

Role overview A Staff-level backend engineering role focused on building the next-generation AI-powered grocery ordering platform. Responsibilities - Lead the design, buildout, and deployment of scalable, robust APIs and backend services, making foundational architectural decisions that shape the platform. - Partner with product, design, account management, and peer engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions serving client needs. - Drive projects through the full development lifecycle, from conception to launch, with a high degree of autonomy. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth. - Explore complex systems and the broader business domain, including dependencies outside the team's direct ownership, to inform better technical choices.

Requirements - BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. - 8+ years of professional software development experience. - Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end and thrive in an AI-native engineering culture that embraces new tools. - Strong communication skills with the ability to build alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
