Software Engineer II, Backend (Decisions Orchestration)

Role overview Build backend services for a checkout platform that coordinates customer transactions. The role combines designing APIs and microservices with owning the reliability and long-term health of checkout components, while working with engineers and product leaders on broad technical problems.

Responsibilities - Design and deliver backend APIs and service interfaces for transaction workflows. - Own checkout components, improve their performance and reliability, and consider effects on connected systems. - Work with technical leaders and engineers across teams to shape platform improvements and resolve open-ended problems. - Contribute to engineering standards, tooling, and development processes. - Help define project scope and technical decisions, and share knowledge and constructive feedback with peers.

Requirements - A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience. - Experience developing, testing, and shipping high-quality software at scale. - Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate across teams. - User-focused judgment and an interest in improving the customer experience. - Ownership of technical decisions and commitment to supporting peers’ growth. - Relevant experience with backend technologies such as Python or Kotlin, RPC, Redis, MySQL, AWS, and GitHub.
