Software Engineer II, Backend (Card)

Role overview Develop backend systems that support an in-app card checkout experience. You will work on a full-stack product team alongside backend and mobile engineers, partnering with product, design, and analytics to deliver scalable services and smooth customer experiences.

Responsibilities - Break larger projects into manageable tasks and deliver them in stages with support from the team’s technical lead and manager. - Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and engineering partners to shape solutions and discuss constraints, risks, and trade-offs. - Create and monitor service metrics, raise issues when needed, and contribute to operational and on-call work. - Participate in team development activities, including interviewing.

Requirements - At least two years of software engineering experience. - Experience building and launching backend systems, with proficiency in Python or Kotlin. - Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. - Ability to write clear, maintainable code and design tested solutions that span multiple components. - Comfort working in a large codebase, debugging others’ code, and contributing to code reviews. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to learning and feedback.
