Software Engineer I, Backend (Collections)

Role overview Help build a reliable backend platform for managing overdue loan repayments. The team develops recovery strategies and customer communications, with the goal of supporting timely repayment while maintaining a healthy portfolio and dependable services.

Responsibilities - Deliver backend tasks that contribute to team projects and goals, with support from experienced teammates. - Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders, keeping them informed about progress, risks, and trade-offs. - Balance delivery speed with code quality and service reliability. - Join the required on-call rotation and help protect systems from downtime. - Participate in team learning, growth, and development activities.

Requirements - Backend development experience through work or an internship, including designing, building, and launching systems at scale. - Working proficiency in Python or Kotlin. - Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. - Ability to turn a business problem into a solution spanning multiple software components, with clear, tested, extensible code. - Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging existing code, and reviewing others’ work. - Clear communication, collaboration skills, and willingness to seek feedback and guide personal growth.

Benefits and work setup - Remote within Spain; candidates must be based in Spain. Visa sponsorship is available. - Annual base pay range is €57,000–€87,000.
