Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Marketing & Privacy Engineering)

Role overview Build backend and data foundations for marketing measurement, connecting consumer acquisition activity with outcomes such as signups, conversions, and transaction volume. The work spans data engineering and marketing technology, with a focus on dependable pipelines, identity and event data, attribution, and privacy-aware measurement. You will help shape technical direction while working across engineering, product, marketing, analytics, and data teams.

Responsibilities - Own quarterly team goals and guide engineers through ambiguous, cross-functional projects. - Work with product, design, and analytics partners to frame options, constraints, risks, and technical trade-offs. - Design and deliver reliable backend systems, marketing data pipelines, and measurement capabilities. - Monitor service health and data systems, address operational issues, and participate in on-call support. - Improve code review and design practices, document technical guidance, and help raise engineering quality across teams. - Support colleagues’ development through feedback, technical guidance, and example.

Requirements - At least 4 years designing, building, and launching scalable backend systems, with languages such as Python or Kotlin. - Experience with highly available distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. - Hands-on work with marketing measurement tools and concepts, such as tag management, analytics, advertising conversion APIs, customer data platforms, attribution, or consent management. - Experience building production data pipelines and analytical models, including event data, identity resolution, attribution, or conversion measurement. - Ability to design extensible system components, work safely in a large codebase, and communicate clearly with distributed teams. - Ownership mindset, including seeking feedback and addressing technical, process, or business problems proactively.
