Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Loan Origination and Reporting)

Role overview

Build and scale backend data platforms that process loan originations in real time and produce accurate reporting for internal teams and financial partners. You’ll help deliver the team’s technical goals, guide engineering work, and support the reliability of services at the core of financial operations.

Responsibilities

- Own quarterly goals and guide engineers through complex, open-ended delivery work. - Work with product, design, and analytics partners from idea development through implementation, clarifying constraints and evaluating trade-offs. - Surface and lead efforts to resolve technical, operational, process, and business problems. - Monitor service health, support availability, and participate in on-call operations. - Improve code review and design practices, and share technical guidance through writing or talks. - Support teammates’ development with feedback and mentorship.

Requirements

- At least 4 years designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale, using Python, Kotlin, or similar languages. - Experience building highly available distributed systems, including with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. - Deep experience designing and operating scalable data pipelines and batch processing with Spark, Airflow, or comparable frameworks. - Ability to plan and deliver significant system components with simple, extensible designs and high-quality, readable code. - Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across engineering and partner teams. - A related bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
