Senior Backend Engineer (Booking Integrations, Contract)

Role overview Build and deliver the backend services that connect a digital booking system with three external reservation platforms. This contract role covers service setup, production integrations, and a clear handoff so the work can be maintained after the engagement.

Responsibilities - Review service and infrastructure patterns, then create a Go service that follows established practices. - Set up the infrastructure needed to run and maintain third-party integrations. - Build three booking platform integrations that communicate with a shared integration service. - Coordinate with backend and infrastructure colleagues and suggest improvements to APIs and service templates. - Document an infrastructure maintenance plan and hand off the completed work.

Requirements - At least five years of backend engineering experience, including recent production work in Go. - Experience shipping third-party API integrations; booking, scheduling, payments, or CRM systems are especially relevant. - Experience bringing a service from initial setup to production and documenting it for handoff. - Ability to work with inconsistent or lightly documented vendor APIs. - Experience with AWS and backend service infrastructure. - Able to work independently, based in the United States, and eligible to contract as a 1099 independent contractor.

Benefits and work setup - Contract engagement expected to last four to six months, with possible extension or full-time conversion. - Requires availability during core Eastern Time hours, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Compensation is $150 per hour.
