SAP Controlling Consultant

Role overview

This position focuses on leading SAP Controlling (CO) work for a large public-sector organization, owning configuration, enhancements, and ongoing support of financial controlling processes. The consultant partners with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data, strong internal controls, and meaningful management reporting tied to organizational priorities.

Responsibilities

- Lead SAP CO module implementations, enhancements, and configuration activities - Translate finance and business requirements into functional SAP CO solutions - Drive continuous process improvements across SAP Finance and Controlling areas - Oversee configuration, testing, deployment, and end-user support for CO functionality - Apply SAP best practices and provide expert guidance on Controlling capabilities - Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards - Prepare documentation, training, and knowledge transfer materials for team members

Requirements

- 2+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Controlling (CO) and Financial Accounting (FI) - Background leading SAP Finance enhancements, process improvements, or system support - Working knowledge of cost center accounting, profitability analysis, and internal orders

Nice to have

- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA - Experience with process automation and financial reporting tools - Exposure to project management or change management methodologies - Experience supporting data migration, system upgrades, or large-scale SAP rollouts
