Record to Report Configuration Specialist

Role overview

This position configures and maintains Record to Report (R2R) financial-accounting processes within large-scale ERP platforms supporting U.S. federal government clients. The specialist translates finance and accounting requirements into scalable, compliant system configurations that keep period-close activities running smoothly and financial data flowing accurately. It is a hands-on configuration role that bridges business needs and technical delivery.

Responsibilities

- Configure R2R components including journal processing, allocations, reconciliation rules, intercompany setups, and reporting structures - Maintain financial-close configurations supporting period open and close, accruals, reclassifications, and automated posting workflows - Translate functional and accounting requirements into ERP configurations across General Ledger, Intercompany, Allocations, and reporting modules - Validate integrations across upstream and downstream finance processes such as AP, AR, Assets, Projects, and Procurement - Manage configuration documentation, update workbooks, and support migration of configurations across environments - Support testing cycles including SIT, UAT, and regression, and resolve functional or cross-module defects - Partner with finance, accounting, and audit teams to ensure alignment with compliance and internal controls - Troubleshoot system integration issues and safeguard accuracy of financial postings throughout the journal lifecycle

Requirements

- Hands-on experience configuring ERP R2R modules, with Oracle Cloud ERP preferred - Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial-close processes, and end-to-end journal lifecycle management - Ability to interpret functional requirements and convert them into system configurations - Experience with test management, functional-specification writing, and defect resolution - Solid analytical skills for troubleshooting system-integration issues - Effective communication skills and ability to partner across technical and business teams - Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite or comparable enterprise financial systems - Background supporting federal or other regulated environments where auditability is a priority
