Full Stack Developer

Role overview This position calls for an engineer to design and build new product features for a custom, cloud-native web application while enhancing what already exists. The work blends hands-on coding with applied AI tooling to boost developer productivity, instrumentation, and product delivery. The mission centers on modernizing federal agency systems through scalable, secure, and high-performing services.

Responsibilities - Design and ship product features end-to-end, from user experience through backend implementation, for cloud-native web applications. - Build scalable services, engaging UI, and robust APIs in Java or a comparable language, applying distributed systems and AWS cloud programming knowledge. - Use AI coding assistants and frontier models to augment development, testing, and integration work. - Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, performance optimization, and cloud modernization. - Contribute to development best practices and automated testing frameworks across the delivery team. - Lead a small team, providing direction, oversight, and support to ensure high-quality delivery in a client-facing, fast-paced, cross-functional setting.

Requirements - Hands-on experience with Java and TypeScript across both front-end (Angular, React) and backend (Node.js) technologies. - Ability to drive features from ideation through production deployment while maintaining security and high performance. - Demonstrated experience leading a small team with direction, oversight, and quality support. - Strong customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and translate client needs. - US Citizenship required.

Nice to have - Experience with OKTA, JavaScript, CI/CD, GitLab, AWS ECS/Fargate, and agile software development practices. - AWS certification.

Benefits and work setup - Base pay range of approximately $96,300 to $184,900 USD, depending on location and experience, applicable to specified US states and the District of Columbia. - Comprehensive benefits package detailed during hiring. - Applications accepted on an ongoing basis with no fixed deadline.
