Senior Consultant

Role overview Lead end-to-end implementations of an electronic plan review solution for government agencies using a civic platform. The role combines deep configuration and scripting expertise with consulting, partnering with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable, well-designed solutions from discovery through go-live.

Responsibilities - Lead discovery with agency stakeholders to understand current plan review processes, pain points, and goals, then translate them into scalable solution designs. - Analyze existing civic platform configuration (record types, workflows, custom fields and tables, document types, citizen access settings, existing scripts) and produce clear design and configuration documentation. - Own configuration and custom JavaScript scripting tasks, including design, testing, documentation, and promotion across development, test, and production environments with disciplined change control. - Run testing and user acceptance with agency staff, deliver administrator and end-user training, and lead go-live hand-off to support. - Serve as senior technical escalation for production issues, reproducing problems, isolating root cause, and turning recurring issues into documentation, configuration updates, or product enhancement requests. - Mentor junior consultants, champion reusable patterns, and support pre-sales scoping through discovery calls, demos, and effort estimation.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience. - 5+ years configuring a civic platform, including record types, workflows, custom fields and tables, standard choices, document management, and citizen access. - Event scripting experience with strong JavaScript skills, including the ability to read and write production-quality scripts. - Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP-based integration troubleshooting, plus SQL proficiency with SQL Server and the platform's data model. - Understanding of SaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure, and application servers. - Consulting skills with the ability to lead customer-facing sessions and explain technical issues to non-technical municipal or county government audiences.

Nice to have - Travel up to 25% to client sites and industry events.
