Job details
About this role
Role overview This early-career cloud infrastructure role supports the foundational services behind a production software platform. You will build and operate secure, reliable, and cost-conscious infrastructure across cloud environments, working with application and product engineers to make platform capabilities easier to use and maintain.
Responsibilities - Design, build, test, monitor, and maintain infrastructure for production microservices in a multi-cloud environment. - Develop and operate infrastructure-as-code systems that make provisioning repeatable, auditable, and scalable. - Work with product and application engineers to understand platform needs and create useful infrastructure abstractions. - Participate in technical design discussions, review proposals, and contribute to an agile team. - Join an on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and use operational findings to improve reliability. - Reduce recurring toil and technical debt through automation, root-cause fixes, and better documentation and runbooks.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field. - 1–2 years engineering cloud infrastructure for production microservices, with attention to performance, reliability, security, and cost. - At least one year of Python experience. - Six months to one year of experience in at least two of these areas: Terraform, a public cloud platform, or Kubernetes. - Familiarity with source control, testing, deployment, incident response, and production on-call practices. - Daily experience with AI coding tools and sound judgment in checking, simplifying, or rejecting generated code. - Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-first environment.
Nice to have - Bash, Go, or Terragrunt experience; experience creating infrastructure-as-code abstractions at scale; or cloud platform certifications.
Benefits and work setup The position is remote-first and may include bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and a benefits package. Compensation depends on qualifications and location; the stated base salary range is $122,400–$176,000 USD.
