About this role
Role overview Lead the DevOps, Infrastructure, and Release Engineering function for a healthcare data SaaS platform, owning the end-to-end release lifecycle from CI/CD through environment promotion and production deployment. The role balances senior people leadership with deep technical oversight of cloud infrastructure, observability, and operational excellence. It partners with Product Engineering, Quality, Security, and Operations to reduce release risk, eliminate deployment friction, and improve time-to-value without compromising stability or compliance.
Responsibilities - Lead, coach, and grow DevOps, Infrastructure, and Release Engineering teams across geographies, including hiring, onboarding, and career development. - Establish clear ownership and accountability for CI/CD, environment management, and production readiness. - Define and continuously improve the release engineering strategy, including trunk-based or hybrid branching, automated testing gates, and progressive delivery patterns such as feature flags, canaries, and blue-green deployments. - Drive measurable improvements in deployment frequency, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery. - Provide technical leadership across AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring infrastructure and pipelines follow security, compliance, and cloud best practices. - Champion Infrastructure as Code, policy-as-code, secure-by-default deployments, and blameless postmortems. - Integrate observability, metrics, logs, traces, and alerting into CI/CD workflows to improve release confidence and incident response.
Requirements - At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles. - At least 5 years managing engineering managers or senior technical teams. - Prior hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for SaaS platforms. - Strong multi-cloud experience with AWS as primary, plus Azure and GCP. - Deep understanding of release engineering, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps or SRE best practices. - Experience supporting high-availability distributed systems in production and improving reliability and deployment safety. - Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills. - Hands-on familiarity with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, LaunchDarkly, CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
Nice to have - Experience modernizing DevOps and CloudOps practices and shaping platform engineering strategy.
