Staff Platform Engineer | Observability

Role overview A staff platform engineer with a dedicated observability focus is needed to evolve a cloud-native monitoring ecosystem into a self-service platform supporting a globally distributed engineering organization. The role spans metrics, logs, traces, and profiling, with responsibility for building "golden paths" that let developers instrument code instantly and gain high-fidelity signals without operational overhead. This is a remote position based in Brazil.

Responsibilities - Take end-to-end ownership of the observability stack, ensuring resilience and scalability - Evolve and maintain cloud-native infrastructure built on Kubernetes - Build abstractions and tooling that simplify the observability lifecycle for development teams - Establish standards, guidelines, and best practices, formalized through processes such as RFCs - Solve complex challenges related to high-cardinality metrics, log retention, and distributed tracing - Code in Golang, Ruby, or Python to maintain platform products and internal tools

Requirements - Proven experience with observability practices and tooling across metrics, logs, traces, and profiling - Proficiency with a major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure - Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and its surrounding ecosystem - Hands-on experience with technologies such as Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Thanos, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope, Kafka, ArgoCD, Crossplane, and HashiCorp Vault - Programming proficiency in at least one of Golang, Ruby, or Python - Based in Brazil and eligible to work remotely within the country
