Senior Back End Engineer (Integrations)

Role overview

A senior backend engineering role focused on the integrations layer of a financial planning platform. The position leads the design and scaling of connectors that pull data from ERP, accounting, billing, commerce, and HRIS systems into the product. It blends hands-on coding with architectural leadership and cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and finance specialists.

Responsibilities

- Move fluidly across multiple languages and ecosystems, including ERP scripting frameworks and vendor SDKs - Implement and maintain authentication flows such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SSO, and service-to-service auth, managing token lifecycles and secure communications - Lead the design of the integrations platform for ingesting, normalizing, and annotating business data - Build and scale bidirectional connectors across billing, accounting, ERP, commerce, and HRIS categories - Architect low-code or no-code tooling and decide between build, buy, and partner strategies - Ensure integrations stay secure, resilient, and performant under high transactional volumes - Set technical standards and guide architecture for integrations and other data-heavy systems

Requirements

- Seven or more years of professional engineering experience, including at least two focused on integrations - Strong background building integrations for data-heavy or financial use cases - Hands-on depth in Python and modern backend systems - Experience architecting or operating integrations platforms, data platforms, or large-scale API ecosystems - Curiosity for ambiguous problems such as low-code builder design and LLM-assisted workflows - Pragmatic judgment about when to ship quickly versus investing in foundational architecture
