Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Role overview

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will lead the design, assessment, and implementation of Zero Trust security capabilities for federal government customers, helping mission-driven programs meet stringent compliance obligations. The role spans security architecture, control assessment, and authorization support across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments, blending deep technical work with stakeholder advisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

- Engineer and assess Zero Trust security capabilities spanning identity, devices, networks, applications, and data domains - Translate NIST, FISMA, RMF, FedRAMP, and agency security requirements into concrete technical controls and system security requirements - Prepare and review security documentation, including control evidence, implementation statements, and remediation plans that support authorization and assessment activities - Analyze security findings, vulnerabilities, and control gaps, then develop and track Plans of Action and Milestones through closure - Advise system owners, architects, engineers, and program leadership on security architecture decisions, risk treatment approaches, and compliance impacts - Evaluate cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments for control implementation, continuous monitoring, and authorization readiness, and produce clear technical reports, risk summaries, and stakeholder briefings

Requirements

- Seven or more years of cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, or security assessment experience in federal or similarly regulated environments - Hands-on experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework, NIST SP 800-53 controls, FISMA, FedRAMP, and authorization-to-operate activities - Practical experience applying Zero Trust principles and assessing controls across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments - Demonstrated ability to develop or review security plans, assessment evidence, Plans of Action and Milestones, and remediation documentation - Skill in converting security and compliance obligations into actionable technical requirements and practical implementation guidance - Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant technical experience, plus strong written communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder briefing abilities

Benefits and work setup
