Full Stack Engineer, Contract

Role overview

Build and operate full stack applications on cloud platforms, contributing across application development, infrastructure, delivery automation, and production support. The role emphasizes Python services and APIs alongside React interfaces, with responsibility for deploying reliable, secure applications and keeping their cloud environments performant and cost-conscious.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform using maintainable Python code. - Build and maintain APIs and microservices, and implement cloud-native development practices. - Design and operate scalable cloud infrastructure, optimizing resource performance and cost. - Apply security and compliance practices to cloud environments. - Create CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments. - Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting, and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

- At least three years of application development experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. - Strong proficiency in Python and React. - Experience with at least one major cloud platform; substantial familiarity with Google Cloud services is specified, including compute, storage, data, messaging, and Kubernetes offerings. - Familiarity with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or Deployment Manager. - Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build.

Nice to have

- Google Cloud professional architecture or development certification. - Experience with FastAPI or Django. - Experience working with agile development methods.
