Role overview

A specialized security role within a global Android Reverse Engineering program that analyzes and deconstructs mobile applications and SDKs to uncover hidden risks. The work sits at the intersection of malware research, vulnerability discovery, and threat intelligence, helping protect a large base of enterprise and government customers.

Responsibilities

- Conduct in-depth analysis of Android applications and SDKs to understand codebase, architecture, and functionality - Apply advanced reverse engineering techniques including decompilation, disassembly, and debugging across varied codebases - Identify user and device risks, data leakage pathways, and malicious code execution patterns - Gather, analyze, and report threat intelligence related to Android malware, exploits, and emerging security trends - Collaborate with security researchers and developers to share findings, recommend mitigations, and contribute to a safer app ecosystem

Requirements

- 3 to 5+ years of expertise in Android development, reverse engineering, penetration testing, application security assessments, or Capture the Flag competitions - Hands-on experience analyzing and unpacking malicious applications or SDKs using static and dynamic analysis techniques - Proficiency with reverse engineering tools such as Jadx, Ghidra, Frida, IDA Pro, and Burp for binary and APK analysis - Working knowledge of mobile languages including Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, and Flutter - Experience with ELF (native binaries) reverse engineering and signature development using SQL, Yara, or similar

Nice to have

- Grounding in Android fundamentals: activity lifecycles, common API usage, AOSP, and how applications are constructed - Familiarity with techniques malicious apps use to compromise devices or data - Understanding of mobile app store policies around ads, PHAs, and developer guidelines - Network traffic analysis, authentication mechanisms, and encoding or cryptography fundamentals - Research on advanced threats using open-source intelligence sources such as VirusTotal, MITRE, and ExploitDB
