Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

Role overview

A senior cloud infrastructure role focused on owning the reliability, automation, and ongoing evolution of the core systems behind a cloud-native CAD platform. The work spans backend, infrastructure, and systems engineering, with the expectation of stepping into any layer—including the frontend—when something needs fixing.

Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain core systems and services that support platform reliability, performance, and scalability - Build automation and tooling that reduce operational overhead and improve developer workflows - Develop integrations between internal systems and external platforms such as billing, CRM, authentication, and analytics - Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting across services for strong operational visibility - Architect and maintain infrastructure components including distributed services, data pipelines, and deployment automation - Contribute to security-focused systems work such as permissions controls, access flows, and auditability - Troubleshoot issues across services and layers, taking full ownership from diagnosis to resolution, occasionally including frontend code

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience - Strong professional background in systems, platform, or infrastructure engineering - Proficiency in Rust with solid understanding of systems-level programming - Solid experience with databases (transactional and analytical), schema design, and distributed architectures - Comfort working with infrastructure-as-code and containerized deployments - Ability to work autonomously and make high-leverage technical decisions in a fast-moving environment

Nice to have

- Frontend development experience (JavaScript/React) for occasional UI-level fixes - Background with billing systems (Stripe) or CRM platforms - Experience building internal tooling, permissions systems, or developer productivity infrastructure - Familiarity with CAD-adjacent workflows or domain-specific data pipelines

Benefits and work setup

Salary range of $145,000–$195,000 USD, with final offer depending on experience, skills, and market data, and varying by geography. Competitive equity and a full benefits package are offered, with details varying by geography. Both local and remote arrangements are supported.
