Sr QA Automation Engineer

Role overview

We are hiring a Staff QA Automation Engineer to strengthen build, packaging, and deployment automation for an enterprise software platform. This remote India-based role sits at the intersection of quality engineering, DevOps, and release engineering, focusing on tooling that allows developers and testers to ship reliably. The position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning end-to-end automation for both cloud and on-premise delivery scenarios.

Responsibilities

- Build automated processes for producing software packages that are deployed to production environments. - Develop tooling to provision build and test environments on cloud infrastructure for development and QA activities. - Prepare deployment solutions across QA, staging, and production environments. - Create and maintain tools that deliver on-premise services to customers, including server restart and software update flows. - Contribute to development processes, including improvements to build procedures, test frameworks, verification tools, and packaging. - Define process models and tooling that enable adoption of DevOps methodologies across the organization.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent. - Minimum of 8 years of industry experience as a software developer or quality engineer working on enterprise software testing. - Strong experience with the Linux operating system, including configuration of storage, networking, and file system subsystems. - Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform, with experience implementing automated branching, build, test-automation, and deployment pipelines. - Ability to write and troubleshoot system-level scripts in Python and Bash. - Familiarity with Linux packaging tools such as apt, automated update mechanisms, and Windows OS internals for QA automation. - Experience using AI tools to develop skills, hooks, and schedulers, plus comfort working with multicultural, globally distributed teams.
