Role overview
An AI engineer is needed to take end-to-end ownership of an in-app assistant that powers everyday help along with coaching and mentoring conversations. The role centers on shaping the assistant's roadmap across prompts, modes, evaluation, and request routing, while also building production-grade language pipelines and safety mechanisms that hold up under real use.
Responsibilities
- Own the prompts, conversation modes, evaluation framework, and routing layer that decide how the assistant responds. - Build and maintain translation and voice-note transcription pipelines serving real users. - Design responsible-AI safeguards including refusals, citation handling, and hallucination checks. - Stand up automated evaluation suites so updates ship with measurable confidence rather than gut feel.
Requirements
- Three or more years building LLM-powered features that have shipped to production users. - Hands-on comfort with production LLM APIs and a working understanding of vendor trade-offs. - Strong intuition for prompt design, retrieval strategies, and when fine-tuning is actually worth the cost. - A defensive engineering mindset that maps failure modes before users encounter them.
