Technical Writer

Role overview A contract, remote-eligible position for a technical writer to own the full documentation surface of a developer-focused AI infrastructure platform, including its GPU cloud offering and benchmarking product. The team treats documentation as a first-class product, working directly with engineers to verify every procedure against the actual codebase rather than relying on secondhand descriptions. Accuracy and structural discipline are the bar, because incorrect tutorials cost developers meaningful time.

Responsibilities - Own end-to-end documentation across the core platform, GPU cloud, and benchmarking product lines. - Write and maintain quick-starts, tutorials, how-to guides, and conceptual explanations, keeping each doc type distinct in purpose and structure. - Produce and maintain API reference material, keeping it synchronized with the live interface. - Personally run every procedure before publishing, treating unverified content as a draft. - Establish and enforce voice, tone, and structural consistency across the entire docs set. - Partner with engineering so that updating documentation is part of the definition of done for a change. - Mine support tickets and user feedback to identify documentation gaps and close them.

Requirements - A portfolio of technical documentation for a developer-facing product that can be reviewed. - Ability to read TypeScript or Python source code and accurately explain what it does. - Demonstrated command of documentation structure, including the distinction between tutorial, how-to, reference, and explanation. - Comfort working in a docs-as-code workflow with Git, Markdown, and pull-request review. - Command-line and API fluency sufficient to test the instructions being published. - Precise written English and the discipline to cut words that are not earning their place. - Self-direction suited to a contract role where much of the agenda is self-set.

Nice to have - Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, particularly inference and model deployment. - Experience documenting OpenAPI-described interfaces or generating reference material from schema. - Background in developer relations or developer education. - Experience with information architecture for a documentation site that has outgrown its original structure.
