Pricing Engineer

Role overview

Support commercial and engineering teams by turning technical manufacturing information into accurate, timely quotations. The work combines CAD and drawing interpretation, manufacturability assessment, process selection, cost modeling, technical communication, and continuous improvement of quoting workflows for made-to-order components.

Responsibilities

- Review English-language 3D models, 2D drawings, and RFQ details to identify manufacturing requirements and potential quoting issues. - Estimate production costs using material requirements, machining or fabrication time, labor intensity, post-processing, and other relevant manufacturing factors. - Recommend appropriate processes and provide design-for-manufacturability feedback for customer parts. - Explain calculations and technical assumptions clearly to Sales and Engineering colleagues, clarifying missing information when needed. - Prepare accurate quotes within the expected rapid turnaround, ideally one to two working hours, while maintaining a high level of detail and consistency. - Maintain quotation databases and contribute to automation, workflow optimization, and adoption of modern CAD/CAM, CRM, and cloud tools.

Requirements

- Higher technical education in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or a comparable discipline. - At least six years of experience in metalworking or mechanical engineering. - Expert knowledge of machining and fabrication processes, including turning, milling, CNC machining, EDM, laser, waterjet or plasma cutting, sheet-metal work, grinding, and welding. - Working knowledge of post-processing such as polishing, hardening, heat treatment, anodizing, blasting, coating, and painting. - Understanding of metals, plastics, composites, and how their properties affect manufacturing and cost. - English proficiency at approximately B2 level or higher, strong attention to detail, customer-oriented communication, and the ability to work accurately under time pressure.

Nice to have

- Experience designing tooling and fixtures for machining, assembly, or welding. - Familiarity with CNC CAM programming and tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or CypCut, with openness to further training. - Strong practical ability to assess labor intensity and manufacturability from technical documentation.
