Responsibilities
- Take ownership of backend features throughout their lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing improvement. - Develop new services and enhance existing services using Kotlin. - Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable distributed systems. - Write maintainable code, expand automated test coverage, and help preserve strong engineering standards. - Collaborate closely with product and engineering partners in a compact, cross-functional team. - Deliver incremental improvements regularly while balancing immediate product needs with long-term technical quality.
Requirements
- Six or more years of professional backend development experience. - Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals. - Demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems. - Passion for software quality, maintainability, testing, and dependable production behavior. - Ability to take ownership, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively in a fast-moving product environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kotlin services, remote procedure calls, protocol-based APIs, dependency injection, relational databases, analytical warehouses, container orchestration, or infrastructure-as-code tooling. - Experience building mobile-first consumer products or software in financial services.
