Backend Engineer

Role overview

Build and operate the backend services that turn on-chain activity into reliable, useful product data. The work spans API design, persistence, authentication, integrations, and asynchronous processing, with particular attention to correctness when external providers fail or return incomplete information.

Responsibilities

- Develop REST endpoints and server-side workflows using Next.js route handlers and server actions. - Design MongoDB data models and decide where application state should reside. - Implement authentication, authorization-related safeguards, and request rate limiting. - Build background jobs that process blockchain and application data safely over time. - Integrate RPC providers, indexers, and notification services into dependable workflows. - Add retry handling, idempotency, observability, and recovery paths for failed or interrupted work.

Requirements

- Experience building production backend services with Node.js. - Practical experience with Next.js server-side features, including route handlers or server actions. - Familiarity with MongoDB and designing durable data models. - Understanding of REST API design, authentication, rate limiting, and asynchronous jobs. - Ability to reason about retries, duplicate processing, partial failure, and external dependency outages. - Ownership mindset: able to take a requirement through implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
