Junior IT Security Analyst

Role overview Support practical cybersecurity operations by monitoring alerts, helping maintain access controls, and tracking vulnerabilities through resolution. This is an entry-level opportunity: professional security experience is not required, and foundational knowledge can come from study, projects, labs, or other learning experiences. You’ll work with engineering, DevOps, and operations teams and handle sensitive information carefully.

Responsibilities - Review security alerts and reported concerns, perform initial triage, and promptly escalate credible risks. - Assist with access reviews, identity lifecycle tasks, least-privilege checks, and authentication controls. - Track vulnerabilities from discovery through assignment, remediation, validation, and closure. - Maintain asset inventories, procedures, incident records, and supporting evidence. - Help prepare for and respond to incidents, including investigation, containment, communication, and follow-up lessons. - Create practical security awareness materials and protect credentials, personal data, and other confidential information.

Requirements - No prior professional cybersecurity experience is required. - Foundational understanding of networking, operating systems, cloud services, and common security threats. - Methodical approach to reviewing alerts and distinguishing evidence from assumptions. - Working knowledge of access control, identity management, vulnerability management, and incident response. - Careful documentation habits, including accurate timestamps, ownership, status, and evidence. - Clear written communication, sound judgment with confidential information, and willingness to seek guidance when needed.

Nice to have - Relevant certification, home lab, academic project, internship, security research, CTF participation, or documented self-study. - Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, ticketing tools, or basic scripting. - Awareness of Philippine data privacy obligations or recognized security frameworks.
