Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Role overview

Set technical direction for reliability and observability across a broad software environment. As part of a central platform observability team, you will build shared telemetry foundations and operational practices that help product teams understand system behavior, improve performance, and release software with greater confidence. The work includes exploring intelligent automation in development and operations workflows.

Responsibilities

- Design standardized data pipelines and telemetry layers to support operational analysis and automated workflows. - Implement OpenTelemetry standards and vendor-neutral instrumentation across distributed applications. - Improve cloud platform efficiency, including cost optimization and performance monitoring. - Create automated alerting and reliability scorecards that make system health and incident investigation easier to assess. - Establish shared reliability benchmarks and support product engineering teams across the organization. - Take ownership of complex reliability challenges from design through delivery, sharing knowledge and raising platform standards.

Requirements

- Experience managing distributed tracing, metrics, and log aggregation in large cloud environments. - Practical knowledge of OpenTelemetry and vendor-agnostic instrumentation. - Strong understanding of distributed systems and diagnosing behavior under high load. - Ability to collaborate across engineering teams, communicate clearly, and share technical knowledge. - Proactive approach to owning reliability work through implementation.
