A Delivery Manager oversees end-to-end technology initiatives for a software engineering and IT consultancy, spanning software rollouts, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation programs. The role blends hands-on project leadership with stakeholder coordination across IT and business audiences, ensuring delivery stays on time, within scope, and on budget. It sits at the intersection of domain expertise and technology execution, guiding multidisciplinary teams through complex enterprise work.
Responsibilities
- Direct full-lifecycle delivery of technology projects, from software implementation through infrastructure modernization and digital transformation. - Build project charters, schedules, and mitigation plans that account for dependencies, technical risks, and resource constraints. - Lead cross-functional groups of software engineers, business analysts, and partner vendors through design, build, and deployment of enterprise solutions. - Manage vendor contracts and performance against technical specifications, SLAs, and compliance requirements. - Run governance meetings and technical status reviews, keeping IT leadership and business stakeholders informed and accountable. - Apply project management best practices through tools like Jira and Azure DevOps to track milestones, deliverables, and KPIs. - Act as the central liaison between IT leadership, end users, and external partners, providing progress updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations. - Drive post-implementation reviews to evaluate system performance and feed improvements into future initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Systems or Technology Management, or Computer/Management Information Systems. - Five years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Computer Systems or Application Analyst, Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or a closely related role. - Working knowledge of TPF Mainframes, Edifact, XML, SDQuery, TPFDF, MySQL, SQL Server, IBM MQ, WebSphere MQ, and TPF Connect. - Proficiency with planning and tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Big Picture, Aha, PPM, ServiceNow, ALM, Agile One, and Azure DevOps. - Familiarity with delivery phases including Dev, QA, SIT, UAT, and PN. - Foreign degree equivalents accepted.
