Responsibilities
- Design, build, and continuously improve backend services written in Scala - Optimize scalability, throughput, and reliability of large-scale applications - Investigate and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems - Work closely with cross-functional teams to surface bottlenecks and ship targeted solutions - Strengthen engineering practices, code quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Scala backend development experience - Proven track record building and operating scalable backend services in production - Solid experience with performance tuning and system optimization - Practical experience using AI-powered development assistants (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor) to improve delivery quality or productivity - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex technical problems - Good command of software design principles and backend engineering best practices - Proactive, self-driven problem-solving style with strong collaboration and communication skills - English at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience integrating Generative AI more structurally into the software development lifecycle, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or embedded tooling - Familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices such as agent-based workflows, automation patterns, and AI-augmented development, with curiosity to experiment beyond conventional approaches
