Senior Java Developer with Italian (Integration & Azure)

Role overview

A senior Java developer is needed to build backend services and REST APIs that operate within a distributed, event-driven environment integrating enterprise platforms. The role combines development, integration design, and collaboration on code quality and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain backend services with Java and Spring Boot - Build REST APIs and integrate services within a distributed environment - Consume and process platform events and customer data in a near real-time integration landscape - Implement event-driven solutions using Azure Event Hub or Kafka - Persist and manage customer data in Azure SQL databases - Design and maintain microservices deployed on Azure - Work with enterprise integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Azure - Contribute to API design and documentation using OpenAPI or Swagger - Work with Docker and Kubernetes - Collaborate with the team on code quality, testing, and continuous delivery

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional experience in Java development - Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot - Solid experience developing REST APIs - Practical experience with Azure SQL or other SQL databases - Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as Azure Event Hub or Kafka - Experience working with enterprise integrations and distributed systems - Good knowledge of OpenAPI or Swagger - Experience with Git and Azure DevOps - Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes - Practical experience using AI-powered assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor - Good understanding of microservices architecture - Good command of English at minimum B2 and Italian at minimum B2 - Willingness to travel occasionally to Italy

- Applied GenAI within the SDLC or interest in agent-based workflows
