Senior Java Developer with Italian

Role overview

A senior Java developer is needed to build and maintain backend integration services within an event-driven, microservices-based landscape. The role combines hands-on engineering with production troubleshooting and collaboration across Azure and integration platforms.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain backend integration services with Java and Spring Boot - Implement XML processing and file-based integrations, including generating and handling XML payloads - Process asynchronous messages and manage data flows across Azure services - Work with Azure Blob Storage, Service Bus, Event Hub, and Azure SQL - Design and implement microservices and event-driven solutions - Apply resilient integration patterns such as retry, dead-letter queues, idempotency, reconciliation, and error handling - Integrate services using MuleSoft - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps - Work with Docker and Kubernetes, including AKS - Troubleshoot production issues and support reliable operation of integration services

Requirements

- 7+ years of professional experience in Java backend development - Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot - Solid experience with XML processing and file-based integrations - Practical experience with Azure services, particularly Blob Storage, Service Bus, Event Hub, and Azure SQL - Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems - Good understanding of resilient integration patterns, including retry, DLQ, idempotency, and reconciliation - Experience with MuleSoft integrations - Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably AKS - Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD - Practical experience using AI-powered assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor - Strong troubleshooting and production support skills - Good command of English at minimum B2 and Italian at minimum B2 - Willingness to travel occasionally to Italy

- Applied GenAI within the SDLC or interest in agent-based workflows
