Backend Software Engineer (Java and Kotlin)

Role overview Build and improve backend services for a specialist automotive marketplace, supporting customer journeys through microservices and REST APIs. You’ll work with product, data, and UX colleagues to turn needs into maintainable platform features, using AI-assisted tools as part of software delivery.

Responsibilities - Develop and enhance scalable backend services, microservices, and REST APIs. - Design new modules and improve existing platform components. - Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and UX designers on technical solutions. - Maintain code quality through testing, maintainability practices, and sound engineering standards. - Use AI-assisted development tools to support delivery.

Requirements - Commercial experience with Java and Kotlin, and hands-on experience with Spring Boot. - Practical experience designing microservices and building backend services and REST APIs. - Ability to design modules and improve existing systems with a strong focus on testing and code quality. - Experience using AI-powered assistants in software delivery. - Ability to work with product, data, and UX teams. - Polish and English at B2 level; eligibility to work from the EU and a valid work permit are required.

Nice to have - MongoDB and Spring Data MongoDB experience, or familiarity with Google Cloud Platform. - Basic web, iOS, or Android development knowledge. - Experience incorporating generative AI into structured software development workflows, including tool integrations or agent-based practices.

Benefits and work setup The role requires openness to visiting a Warsaw office for one or two days per quarter.
