B2B PHP Senior Developer, Romania

Role overview Build and maintain backend capabilities for a web product, translating technical specifications into dependable software and improving existing functionality. The work includes product and database maintenance, quality support, documentation and collaboration with distributed, multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities - Interpret requirements and technical specifications, then implement backend software that meets them. - Identify and deliver improvements across the product platform. - Troubleshoot, test and maintain core product services and databases to support functionality and scalability. - Work with QA to define acceptance tests and investigate defects. - Write clear technical documentation and follow coding standards and established engineering practices. - Contribute to mentoring and knowledge sharing with colleagues across distributed teams.

Requirements - At least 6 years of backend web application development experience, including PHP 8 or later and MySQL. - Practical command of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles and software design patterns. - Experience writing unit and integration tests. - Experience with SQL, APIs and GraphQL. - Understanding of web product development, full-stack interactions and cloud-based microservices. - Good English communication skills for effective work with multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have - Experience leading or mentoring other developers.
