Infrastructure Engineer

Role overview Join a small infrastructure team that builds and operates the foundational systems behind a developer platform serving hundreds of software companies. The work centers on keeping services fast, reliable, and always available while processing millions of requests, with engineers expected to think across compute, networking, storage, and database layers and to partner closely with product teams on high-impact projects.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain core platform infrastructure that supports large-scale, low-latency traffic. - Operate and evolve systems across multiple infrastructure layers, including compute, networking, storage, and databases. - Collaborate with product engineering teams to architect services that are reliable, scalable, and easy to run in production. - Champion observability, reliability, and performance as first-class concerns of the user experience. - Contribute architectural perspective on cross-cutting projects and step in to support critical initiatives as needs arise. - Balance trade-offs between simplicity, scalability, and reliability when evaluating designs and tooling.

Requirements - A generalist engineering background comfortable working across infrastructure layers rather than a single specialty. - Demonstrated ability to reason about system architecture and make thoughtful trade-off decisions. - Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to work independently and proactively investigate issues end to end. - Experience partnering with application or product engineers to deliver production-ready systems. - A bias for observability, reliability, and performance, treating them as essential to customer experience. - Curiosity and motivation to understand how complex distributed systems work from top to bottom.
